It's easy to see the attraction - the countryside is picturesque and cities such as Brighton are quirky and lively so there is something for everyone. The region hosts a wide range of sporting activities throughout the year and even claims to be the birthplace of modern cricket. On top of the countryside, sports and selection of lively cities, it is home to one of the most famous universities in the world - The University of Oxford.

        FAQs
        Cost of living

The average house value in South East England is £319,000, which makes it the second most expensive in the England (after London, of course). Areas that are within a commutable distance to London are always more expensive and often have similar living costs to the capital, but have the benefit of a slower pace and more green areas. £4 for a pint is pretty standard and a litre of milk will cost you about 90p, which is pretty pricey compared to the 72p you can pay in the North. The region also has a selection of coastal towns that attract a large number of tourists and can affect prices within those areas.

        Renting Prices

The average rent in the region is £806 a month, but the South East covers a significant geographical space so you will certainly be able to find properties to rent for less than this if you need to.

        Nightlife

The region is more known for its countryside than its nightlife, but cities that have a strong student population, like Brighton, have a vibrant night scene that is home to a selection to pubs, clubs and bars alongside alternative theatre and music performances.
