Job Description

Our client is a structural engineering design consultancy based in London. The practice is responsible for a diverse portfolio of contemporary structures including buildings, pavilions and large-scale artworks. Across all projects there is a commitment to collaboration and engagement and an enthusiasm for beautiful architecture and design. This has resulted in a series of carefully detailed and widely acclaimed projects, both permanent and temporary across the United Kingdom and internationally. They are looking for a Graduate Design Engineer to join,a permanent position on a competitive salary. Requirements: • First class or 2:1 degree in Engineering. • An ability to work independently. • Enthusiastic, technically proficient and able to communicate effectively. • An understanding of professional responsibilities including CDM regulations. • A working knowledge of 3D CAD and FEA software. • An interest in art and architecture is essential and practical and model making skills are also valued. Core duties • Design collaboratively under the direction of a Senior Engineer. • Analyse structures and prepare design calculations. • Produce and/or manage arrangement and detail CAD drawings. • Monitor construction and fabrication of projects on site. • Check work by others. Training You will be expected to pursue chartered status with an appropriate institution (IStructE or ICE) and adhere to that institution’s code of professional conduct. Annual subscriptions to cover professional membership of an institution and/or training fees connected with CPD will be paid for by the company within a yearly training budget of £500 per annum.
