White Label has partnered with a fantastic Engineering company in Sheffield that is currently seeking a talented Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their rapidly growing team Our client provides bespoke engineering solutions for large-scale engineering projects, and you could be a part of their success story. As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be heavily involved in projects from the design stage and in the long term will be able to progress and take ownership of your own projects. Package/Benefits A salary of £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience 25 days holiday bank holidays 37.5-hour work week with flexible start/finish times Pension Healthcare Responsibilities of the Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer Produce compliant, cost-effective design solutions to customer requirements. Produce 3D CAD models of the proposed design. Generation of drawings pack for manufacture; general arrangements, fabrication, machining drawings including all requisite details such as materials, finishes, and welds. Create calculations to substantiate the design, to the relevant codes. Specify motor, gearboxes, bearings etc, and produce supporting calculations to substantiate the selection. To proficiently check own and other’s drawings and calculations prior to issue. Attend kick-off and handover meetings to ensure a full understanding of the project specifications, deadlines, and client requirements. Organise and chair design review meetings. Attend project review meetings as required. Prepare project-specific health and safety documentation such as Risk Assessments. Ensure that all documentation and correspondence relevant to the project design is filed (electronically or as a hard copy) and that a Technical File is compiled from the beginning of the project. Liaise with Sales, EC&I, Production Engineering, Quality and Purchasing to deliver high quality integrated deliverables. Experience required of the Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer A degree in an Engineering discipline. Competent in the use of AutoDesk Inventor (other 3D package experience is acceptable). Ability to produce calculations for structures and mechanisms, use of MathCAD or similar. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis; Ansys, Staad, Nastran or similar.
