Sporting Education Apprenticeships

Life at Sporting Education for apprenticeships

Established in 2007, Sporting Education was set up to undertake new projects that work with young people in order to make a better society. Sporting Education aims to engage with young people through sport and mentoring, providing experiences and increased motivation to help them succeed in life and be the best that they can be. In 2015 Sporting Education also became a company that recruits, employs and supports Apprentices within the Sports and Education sectors. In 2016 Sporting Education received government approval via the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) to be a registered Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA). This approval means that Sporting Education can employ the Apprentices directly and then "lease" them to other "host" organisations. The model works particularly well because our sister company, Let me Play is the training provider. This means that as a combined partnership we can really help to support and mentor the Apprentices better than an employer or training provider could do as a sole entity.
