Great benefits
  • Scholarship and Bursary awards ranging from £3,000 to £24,000 are available to support your sixth form and university studies.

  • Higher Bursary Tiers are available for those interested in becoming a professionally qualified officer e.g. Doctors, Lawyers etc.

  • Earn £25,984 whilst training, rising to £31,232 thereafter Have clear progression opportunities, feasibly reaching the rank of Captain within four years

Who can join?

The Army after GCSEs

You don't have to wait until you're 18 to start your path to leadership, adventure and challenge. If you're about to go into Year 12, and you have your GCSE or equivalent results, the Army Officer Scholarship scheme could be perfect for you.

It provides financial support for future Army Officers while they study for A-Levels, Scottish Highers or equivalent qualifications. If you're interested in starting an Army Officer career, this is your opportunity to get paid while you study.

The Army after A-levels

You can join as an Officer straight after A-Levels and begin your journey straight away. The best leadership and management training in the world. Immediate responsibility that could see you rising to the rank of Captain after three years and Major thereafter. Plus, a starting salary of over £25K, which will rise to over £30k when you commission as an Officer. This is your chance to succeed, without the debt - and so much more. 

However, we recognise that university is an important stage for some people, and so if you feel this route is for you, we offer a range of bursary options to support you through your education. Some Officer roles do also require specialist degrees before applying, including our Dentist, Doctor and Lawyer roles.
