As the Industrial Trainee, you will take responsibility for key reporting tasks, monitor systems and processes, experience a range of finance related tasks and take control of the recruitment process for your successor.

RBBC is a high performing Council located in south east Surrey. The Council is forward thinking and committed to improving the community, carrying out numerous regeneration projects such as the new £9 million Horley Leisure centre that opened in January 2012. The council has been successful in driving down costs, and in the last 6 years have achieved significant savings of more that £10million. Finance

The Finance Unit consists of approximately 23 staff who work in small teams to deliver its functions. Our customers are the other services of the Council as well as the general public.

Our main functions are:

Financial control & governance Budget setting & control, treasury management Production of the published accounts and other financial information Financial advice, contributing to various projects across the council Risk management Cash handling and banking services Producing invoices and recovery of debts Payment of suppliers, VAT accounting, receiving and paying invoices The management and development of ICT systems needed to provide these services effectively

RBBC has been recognised as an Investor in People for over ten years, which gives employees opportunities to continuously develop their skills. RBBC employees enjoy a flexitime system with core hours everyday of 10 am until 4 pm, in a working week of 36 hours.
