Job Description

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team have joined forces with INEOS Britannia to participate in this year’s 37th America's Cup and compete in future events beyond. This project brings together two highly complementary spheres of high-performance, high-technology engineering and sporting challenge. Since August 2019, team members from our Applied Science division have been dedicated to projects with INEOS Britannia, helping to deliver and accelerate performance for what's often referred to as 'Formula One on water'. The Graduate Control Systems Engineer role will have responsibility for the design and implementation of control systems destined for the race yacht and test rigs, from high level flight control laws to low level control loops for electro-hydraulics. Working with a dedicated team of control systems engineers and within the Performance group, the successful candidate will need to assist the team in meeting project requirements and help deliver a highly capable and robust set of control systems. As our Graduate Control Systems Engineer, you responsibilities will include: - Developing control systems designs in conjunction with other engineering groups to ensure yacht control is performed within the bounds of competition regulations & to achieve the desired yacht performance. - Applying the best possible development techniques, ensure robust systems are deployed to all facilities (rigs, simulator, yacht) to enable highly efficient use of those facilities. - To participate in design meetings across controls groups & advise on the practical considerations of control systems requirements within.
