A lovely SEND School based in Westminster, is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. (Full time and part time) The school This is a lovely SEND School in the heart of Westminster, surrounded by beautiful parks, nice cafes, and a lovely high street. This school is supportive and fun to work at. Hosting multiple sensory rooms which are air conditioned, relaxing and a treat for children and staff alike. The school offers a fantastic and flexible curriculum, custom built for each pupil at the school. Each pupil has a tailored schedule where they have set times for sensory dieting with SLT's and art therapy sessions. This fantastic school boasts a large basketball pitch with two outdoor trampolines, sensory garden for reception children, an impressive soft-play room and a stunning food-tech room where students get to show-off their culinary skills They are an interactive, learning by play school which encourage pupils to be individuals and embraces diversity. The pupils have a range of Autism from more sensory and more complex learning difficulties, for instance those who are non-verbal and use Makaton (which you will receive free training in every Wednesday) through to more able Autistic pupils, who can connect learning through visual stimulation and clear communication. They are an absolute pleasure to work with and be around and the school if full of happy faces, which says a lot for the working environment. The role As well as joining a very successful school, you will also become part of a fantastic department. You will be working alongside a very supportive team who work very hard to ensure that each and every student is encouraged to reach their individual potential. You will be required to provide support to pupils, teachers and the school in order to raise standards of achievement for all pupils. You will be required to work with a selection of students on a 1:1 and small group basis, as well as giving in class support. You will need to have an excellent understanding of the learning needs of the students with whom you work.
