        West Yorkshire very easy to access from just about anywhere in the country; The M62, M1 and A1 all pass through the country, not to mention the urban motorway connecting Leeds and Bradford. Any significant train journeys will likely see you passing through one of the two mainline railway stations, Leeds and Wakefield Westgate. Trains from Leeds station run every hour throughout the week to London King's Cross and take a little over two hours. Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly takes around 50 mins and trains run up to five times an hour. If you want to get to the capital cheaply both National Express and Megabus run regular coaches to London Victoria, but it will take around five hours.

        Cost of living here

        The average cost of renting a one bedroom property in Leeds is £608 per calendar month and increases to £768 per calendar month for two bedrooms. In Bradford the averages are £405 pcm for a one bed and £511 pcm for a two. In Wakefield the average cost of a one bedroom is £480 pcm and £566 pcm for a two bedroom.

        Nightlife

        Leeds leads the way for nightlife and truly has something to offer everyone, from suave cocktail bars to The Otley Run; but be warned, with three large universities it's very student orientated. Bradford's underground retail complex Sunbridgwells calls itself “The World of Pure Imagination” and has introduced plenty of new options to the already strong nightlife scene. The city doesn't have the quantity of bars Leeds does, but the variety is still there. Even Wakefield, the smallest city of the three, boasts in excess of 40 bars and clubs to party the night away in.

        Notable Attractions

        With three cities, ample history, and a respectable countryside, there's really no shortage of things to do in West Yorkshire. Topping the reviews for attractions are the Royal Armouries Museum, Harewood House and The Bronte Parsonage Museum. If it's the great outdoors you're after there's Roundhay Park, Ilkley Moor and Black Hill to be choosing from.
